A16462Q-335-ELEM Cornell Pump OEM Drive Coupler

The A16462Q-335-ELEM Cornell OEM Coupling Element is the replaceable elastomeric insert for the A16462Q-335 drive coupling used in Cornell centrifugal pump systems. This is the rubber element only – not the complete coupling assembly with hubs.

Replacing just the element is standard practice when the metal hubs are still in good condition but the elastomeric insert has deteriorated. In pump applications, the element degrades from heat, torsional stress, and sometimes chemical exposure from the pumped fluid environment. Cracks, hardening, and deformation are the common failure modes. Replacing the element restores the coupling’s damping performance at a fraction of the cost of a complete assembly.

During element replacement, inspect both hubs for scoring, corrosion, or bore wear. Clean all mating surfaces before installing the new element. Reassemble per Cornell’s procedure and verify alignment – even when replacing only the element, confirm that the overall coupling alignment is within specification.
