Description

The 7300090 Rexnord Omega ES5-R Coupling Element is an OEM flexible element for Rexnord Omega ES5-R spacer couplings. The urethane element carries torque between the two coupling hubs with no metal-to-metal contact and no lubrication, absorbing shock loads and accommodating angular, parallel and axial misalignment. The spacer design leaves a gap between hubs, so pump seals and bearings can be reached without moving the driver or the driven equipment.

Coupling elements are wear items. Urethane hardens and cracks with heat, hours and misalignment, and once the element loses its elasticity the shock loads it was absorbing pass straight into the bearings and seals on both sides of the coupling. Replacing the element on schedule costs far less than the pump or gearbox repair that follows a failure. This is the factory Rexnord component and ships complete with its mounting hardware.
