The 05017720-0036 Sullivan-Palatek OEM Drive Coupler is a coupling rubber element for Sullivan-Palatek portable air compressors. This is the replaceable elastomeric disc tire component of a Stromag Periflex-style coupling – the flexible element that absorbs torsional vibration between the engine and compressor airend.

In Sullivan-Palatek compressors, the Periflex coupling element is a maintenance item that degrades over time from heat, torsional stress, and environmental exposure. When the element wears, vibration levels increase and the coupling loses its ability to effectively dampen engine firing pulses. Replacing the disc tire restores the coupling’s damping performance without needing to replace the complete coupling assembly.

The 05017720-0036 element slides into the existing connection ring and hub assembly. During replacement, inspect the connection ring teeth for wear, clean all mating surfaces, and ensure the new element seats fully. Verify proper axial spacing before returning the compressor to service.
