Description

The 1316012900 Atlas Copco / Chicago Pneumatic Coupling is an OEM flywheel coupling for Atlas Copco and Chicago Pneumatic portable air compressors. It bolts to an SAE 7.5 engine flywheel, and its rubber element carries an internally toothed bore that engages the matching hub on the airend shaft. The element absorbs the engine’s torsional vibration and the shock loading of startup and shutdown before either reaches the airend.

Couplings are wear items. Heat, running hours and load harden the rubber until it cracks, and a stiffened element passes engine vibration straight into the airend bearings, shaft and seals. On a portable working long jobsite hours, replacing the coupling on schedule costs a fraction of an airend rebuild. This is the factory component, dimensioned to fit the original mounting without modification.
