Description

The 46690421 Ingersoll Rand / Bobcat Coupling is an OEM coupling for Ingersoll Rand and Bobcat portable air compressors. It bolts to the engine flywheel through an eight-bolt flange and drives the compressor airend through a hex bore, with a rubber element between the two that absorbs the engine’s torsional vibration and the shock loading of startup and shutdown before either reaches the airend.

Couplings are wear items. The rubber element hardens and cracks with heat, hours and load, and once it stops flexing, the vibration it was absorbing carries straight into the airend bearings, shaft and seals. On a portable running long jobsite hours, replacing the coupling on schedule costs far less than an airend rebuild. This is the factory component, dimensioned to fit the original mounting without modification.
