Sullivan Palatek DF375 Coupling

Description

The Sullivan Palatek DF375 Coupling is an OEM coupling for Sullivan Palatek portable air compressors built on the John Deere 4045 engine platform. It transmits torque from the diesel engine flywheel to the compressor air end through a flexible elastomer drive, isolating the air end from the engine’s firing pulses. The elastomer path also absorbs shock loading at startup and shutdown and compensates for small angular and radial misalignment between the engine and the air end.

Couplings are wear items. The elastomer hardens and cracks with heat, hours and load, and once it stops flexing, the vibration it was absorbing carries straight into the air end bearings, shaft and seals. On a portable running long jobsite hours, replacing the coupling on schedule costs far less than an air end rebuild. This is the factory component, dimensioned to fit the original mounting without modification.
