Description

The 70305428 Marelli Motori Generator Coupling is an OEM drive coupler for engine-driven generator sets. It mounts to the engine flywheel and drives the generator rotor shaft, carrying full engine torque through a flexible element that absorbs torsional pulses and takes up the small amounts of misalignment normal to a two-machine driveline.

Couplings are wear items. As the element hardens, cracks, or takes a set, engine firing pulses stop being damped and pass straight into the generator rotor, bearings, and shaft, showing up as vibration, noise, and eventually bearing damage that costs far more than the coupling. Replacing on condition rather than on failure is the cheaper path. This is the factory component, dimensioned to fit the original mounting without modification.
