The 46554943 Ingersoll Rand OEM Drive Coupler is a factory-specified elastomeric coupling for Ingersoll Rand portable rotary screw compressors. This drive coupler provides torsional damping and vibration isolation between the engine and compressor airend.

Towable IR compressors deliver compressed air for a wide range of field applications from demolition to spray painting to abrasive blasting. The drive coupler handles the full engine torque while flexing to accommodate shaft misalignment that develops as mounting hardware loosens and frame components wear over years of towing and operation. A deteriorating coupler reduces the machine ability to maintain stable discharge pressure under load, and the resulting vibration can damage the compressor oil separator and internal check valves.

The 46554943 is dimensionally identical to the OEM-installed coupler. During service, inspect the coupling guard for contact marks that could indicate excessive hub movement, clean both shafts, and verify proper element seating before reassembly.
